Responsibilities

As part of their 2015 goals, the Board of Selectmen established two Town Beautification Sub-Committees; each charged with exploring the feasibility, methods/means, and cost estimates to beautify a particular area of Windham.

The Town Center Beautification Sub-Committee will address the historic Town Hall complex and Town Common areas.

Overview

In keeping with its charge, the Beautification Committee has been working to improve the appearance and overall appeal of the Town Common/Center area through such special projects as removing and replacing shrubbery, removal of brush and debris, and replacement of the fence and bridge behind the Bartley House (Administrative Office). The Committee has also developed a set of conceptual plans for the area.

In 2019, those plans were further developed into detailed construction plans, along with narrative specifications, by SFC Engineering Partnership, Inc. for a two (2) phase project to address enhancement/infrastructure needs within the Town Center.

You can view both the conceptual plans and the construction drawings to the right.
